We understand Aussies expect tough, reliable trailers - and ours deliver. While our high-quality components are precision-made overseas by an ISO9001-certified, publicly- listed manufacturer (a trusted supplier for BYD electric vehicles), every trailer is expertly assembled right here in Victoria by our seasoned mechanics
Our team brings over 12 years of local experience building caravans, camping trailers, and box trailers - we know what works in Australian conditions. This combination of world-class parts and true-blue craftsmanship means you get exceptional quality without the premium price tag. Your trailer isn't just imported - it's intelligently engineered for Australian needs.
Yes, trailers need registration (Rego) to legally hit the road in Victoria—just like your ute needs pants.
✅ Rego Required If:
Your trailer has an aggregate trailer mass (ATM) over 750kg, OR
It's used on public roads (yes, even just to dump green waste).
💰 Cost: Starts around $50-$150/year, depending on size/weight.
Trailers under 750kg ATM used off-road (farms, private land) don't need rego—but let's be real, you'll probably want to take it places.
Every trailer we build meets strict Australian Design Rules - they're fully certified under the latest Road Vehicle Standards (RVS) legislation (the updated replacement for the old Motor Vehicle Standards Act 1989).
We put every critical component through rigorous testing:
- ✔ Coupling & safety chains - because staying attached is kind of important
- ✔ A-frame & chassis - the backbone of your trailer
- ✔ Lighting system - so you're visible, day or night
- ✔ Axle & wheels - properly rated for smooth towing
Rest assured, we've checked all the boxes so you can tow with confidence.
Our standard trailer price includes everything you need to get rolling:
- - Coupling & safety chains
- - Jockey wheel
- - A-frame & chassis
- - Full lighting set
- - Tailgate
- - Tyres
- - Cage panel set (Excludes hydraulic tippers and plant trailer series)
Optional extras (not included in base price): Why? We keep the base price competitive while letting you customize exactly what you need - like choosing your burger toppings!
Armor Trailers Warranty: Honest Protection
🔧 Parts Warranty:
12 months coverage on all components*
(Excludes wear items: jockey wheel, rims & tyres)
🏗️ Structural Warranty:
36 months peace of mind on chassis & frame
⚠️ What Void Warranty:
-Unapproved modifications (DIY "upgrades" gone wrong)
-Overloading (we can tell!)
-Extreme misuse (e.g., saltwater boat launches without rinsing)
-Commercial abuse (using a box trailer as a bulldozer?)
We’re fair: Claims won’t be denied for normal Aussie conditions – just give your trailer basic care and common sense.
Spotted an issue? Contact (call / email) us first – we’ll make it right if it’s our fault.
Trailer Insurance: Don’t Get Caught Out!
✅ Check Your Existing Policy First:
Many comprehensive auto policies may cover trailers while attached to your vehicle – but don’t assume! Always:
-Review your policy’s fine print
-Call your insurer to confirm exactly what’s covered (e.g., theft, damage, public liability)
🚨 Gap Alert: If your current insurer says no, you’ll need separate trailer coverage for:
-Theft protection
-Accident damage
-Public liability (critical for expensive loads!)
Pro Tip: Compare specialist trailer insurers – some offer better rates for registered, well-secured trailers.
Better to spend 10 minutes checking now than face a nasty bill later!
Our trailers are built to last, thanks to a heavy-duty hot-dipped galvanized coating with a thick 50-micron zinc Armor layer. With proper care, you can expect 15-20 years of reliable service—maybe even longer if you treat it right!
Of course, real-world longevity depends on a few key factors: Maintenance: Regular care = longer life Storage: Keep it dry when not in use Environment: Coastal salt exposure can halve the lifespan Damage: Scratches and dents need prompt attention Pro tip: A quick rinse after beach trips and occasional inspections will keep your trailer fighting fit for decades!
We insist on premium-quality bearings and running gear from certified manufacturers – because cutting corners on components just costs everyone more in the long run.
While we could save money upfront with cheaper parts, we choose durable components that:
- ✔ Reduce warranty claims (saving you headaches)
- ✔ Last longer under Australian conditions (saving you money)
- ✔ Keep our reputation strong (because we plan to be here for decades, not just until the warranty expires)
Trailer Brake Requirements Made Simple (VicRoads Rules):
✅ Under 750kg ATM:
No brakes required – these lightweight trailers are good to go as-is.
🛑 750kg - 3000kg ATM:
Brakes required (any type – electric, override, etc.). Safety first!
⚠️ Over 3000kg ATM:
Brakes plus a breakaway system (automatically stops trailer if it detaches).
Remember: Proper braking isn't just about compliance – it's about keeping you and others safe on the road.
Step 1 - Check Your Vehicle’s Limits
Towing Capacity: Find your max in the owner’s manual or compliance plate (e.g., "3,500kg braked").
Example: A Toyota Hilux might tow 3,500kg braked, but only 750kg unbraked.
Tow Ball Download: Usually 10% of trailer weight (e.g., 2,000kg trailer → 200kg on the ball).
Step 2️ - Match Trailer to Vehicle
ATM ≤ Vehicle’s Capacity: Never exceed your car/ute’s rated towing limit.
GVM Matters Too: (Vehicle + Trailer + Load) must be under your vehicle’s Gross Combined Mass (GCM).
📦 How to Keep Your Box Trailer Happy (and Avoid Trailer Tantrums)
1- Grease It Like a Sunday Roast 🛠️ Hubs & Bearings: Pump grease in every 5,000km or 6 months (whichever comes first).
2 - Tyre Pressure = Less Stress 🚗💨
Check monthly (or before big trips). Underinflated tyres wear out faster than your patience in traffic.
Don’t forget the spare tyre—it’s not just for decoration.
3 - Wash It, But Don’t Baby It 💦
Hose off dirt / mud (especially after beach trips—salt’s rust’s best mate).
Pro tip: A coat of oil or lanolin spray underneath = rust’s worst enemy.
4 - Lights & Electrics – Don’t Ghost Other Drivers 💡
Test indicators, brakes, and taillights monthly.
Corroded connectors? Hit them with WD-40 or dielectric grease.
5 - Check the Coupling & Safety Chains ⛓️
Grease the tow ball to prevent that awful grinding screech.
Chains should be crossed under the hitch—if they drag, you’re asking for sparks.
6 - Store It Like You Care ☂️
Park on level ground (not grass = rust’s secret hideout).
If storing long-term, jack it up to save the tyres.
7 - Load It Right (or Regret It) ⚖
60/40 rule: 60% of weight in front of the axle.
Too much rear weight = trailer fishtailing like a mullet in a cyclone.
💡 "Trailer Wisdom"
"A squeaky trailer is a needy trailer." – Lubricate before it starts complaining.
"Rust never sleeps… but you can slow it down." – Annual undercoat sprays pay off.
"Treat your trailer like a good mate—ignore it too long, and it’ll let you down at the worst moment."
🔧 Single Axle (1 Axle)
Best for: Light loads, short trips, tight spaces.
✅ Pros:
Lighter & more manoeuvrable (easier to reverse)
Cheaper to buy/maintain (fewer tyres/bearings)
Lower rego costs (weight-dependent)
⚠️ Limits:
Max load ~750–1,500kg (ATM)
Can bounce more on rough roads
Risk of "tail wagging" if overloaded
🚛 Tandem Axle (2 Axles)
Best for: Heavy loads, long distances, stability
✅ Pros:
Handles 2,000–3,500kg+ (higher ATM)
Smoother ride (load spread across axles)
Safer at speed (less sway, better braking)
⚠️ Trade-offs:
Heavier/harder to manoeuvre (needs practice to reverse)
Higher upfront & maintenance costs (2x tyres/bearings)
May need electric brakes (VicRoads requirement)
